Ataxia
Ataxia is a form of movement disorder. Patients with Ataxia experience a loss of balance and physical co-ordination, leading to difficulty walking normally. The cerebellum of the brain is normally responsible for maintaining balance and co-ordination. Ataxia occurs when there is damage to the cerebellum. It may also result from damage to other parts of the nervous system(cerebral cortex and spinal cord).
Wu Medical Center(WMC) provides effective treatment for ataxia patients. The core technology of treatment is its unique "nerve regeneration + CAST therapy".
Spinocerebellar ataxia(SCA) and Friedreich's ataxia are the two most common types of ataxia. Since cerebellar and spinal nerves cannot regenerate, there has been lack of effective treatment for such conditions. Now Wu Medical Center can provide the latest treatment methods, targeting the nerve tissue in the cerebellum and spinal cord, repairing nerve damage, preventing disease progression, improving balance and language function, and restoring patients' motor ability.
